BRASCON - Empowering Brazilian Scientists The Brazilian Students and Scholars Conference promotes activities to enable integration, communication, and professional development for Brazilian graduate students (professional or academic masters, sandwich or full doctoral, and postdoctoral) in the United States within the research fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). MOTIVATION: The growing Brazilian scientific community in the United States, including Brazilian students, professors, researchers working in academia and industry inspired three Brazilian graduate students to create BRASCON in 2014. Now, BRASCON is expanding its activities to mentorship and career development. DREAM: Create a network of competitive and innovative professors, researchers, and professional specialists to shake Brazilian science. GOALS: Connect Brazilian scientists in the United States; Enable the dissemination of scientific research; Create a platform for interaction between students and companies; Recognize talented students through awards. TARGET AUDIENCE: All Brazilian scientists and scholars are welcome to attend the conference. This will be a unique opportunity to exchange experiences among masters, doctoral and postdoctoral students from various scientific fields.
