Castel Froma Specialist Care Centre exists to help people with brain injury live a fuller life. We provide long-term rehabilitation and 24 hour residential nursing care along with respite and day care for up to 400 respite guests and long-term residents. Many of the people we help have sustained a brain injury following a traumatic accident or as a result of a medical problem. Others suffer from Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease or other degenerative neurological conditions. We help our residents to be as independent as possible with a full range of therapies, but Castel Froma is about more than just care – it’s about living. It costs £5.5m every year to provide this quality, long-term care. Although we receive some funding from the NHS (through Primary Care Trusts) to cover basic costs, we are a UK registered charity and need to raise £500,000 each year to provide additional equipment, all our therapy support, supplementary care work and social activities for our residents.
