Our Mission: To save, preserve, restore and reactivate the artist community of the New Hope Colony at Phillips Mill through the creation of a new global artist colony at the birthplace of Pennsylvania Impressionism and the New Hope School of Art. The community of artists which started here at the dawn of the 20th Century by William Lathrop, Edward Redfield and Daniel Garber inspired the formation of the Foundation in 2018 as a new non-profit dedicated to these aims. Our Vision: The New Hope Colony Foundation for the Arts is creating an accessible place for artists to work, study and collaborate while encouraging convergence with the public for civic dialogues, inspiration, education and enlightenment. Through the acquisition, restoration and adaptive reuse of historic structures & landscape and construction of new facilities, the Foundation will create endowed artist live/work studios and exhibition & presentation spaces for public engagement. The Foundation aims to foster professional and creative development for artists of all disciplines and media.
