The Harpenden & Wheathampstead District Scout Gang Show, until the pandemic, was is the longest continuously running recognised Gang Show in the world. Any Cub, Scout or Explorer aged 9 to 18 from the Harpenden & Wheathampstead District of Hertfordshire can take part. There are no auditions. The show is made up of music, song, dance and comedy performed only by the young people, supported by a backstage crew of over 100 adults and young people. Preparations for this annual show start at the end of March, 16 weeks of rehearsals start in September and the show takes place in the second week of January.
