Athena Technologies, Inc. is a HUBZone-certified small business incorporated in South Carolina in 1987. Athena specializes in vibracore sediment sampling for geotechnical and environmental studies and geological training on modern coastal environments. Athena is comprised of a tenured staff (average 9-years tenure) of geologists, licensed captains, and skilled technicians with extensive experience collecting vibracores in a range of challenging environments. From our humble beginnings of only serving local clients, we have gradually expanded our capabilities and currently provide sediment sampling and consulting services to clients from the following sectors: academia, private industry, state governments, and federal entities such as the EPA, Army Corps of Engineers, and the US Navy. Our project portfolio includes successful sampling projects that span from Texas to NY and overseas to the Caribbean. Athena also provides a world-class geological training course highlighting modern depositional environments (e.g., fluvial, deltaic, estuarine, etc.), which serve as analogues for ancient oil- and gas-producing reservoirs. Petroleum geoscientists from around the world have attended the course over the span of more than 40 years, with many participants touting the effectiveness of the course, and the relevance of the information obtained to the petroleum industry.
