On October 15, 2010, it was announced that Capital Bank would soon be joining forces with a bank in the Southern Tier of New York State, Chemung Canal Trust Company. The new Capital Bank opened on April 11, 2011, and began with its new service promise: Platinum Promise. Chemung Canal Trust Company is a full-service community bank headquartered in Elmira, New York, and features a full-service wealth management operation. Chemung Canal is the oldest independent community bank in New York. Chemung Canal Trust Company has offices in Broome, Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga and Tompkins counties in New York, and Bradford County in Pennsylvania.
