Open Banking Exchange was founded in 2021 following the success of Open Banking Europe, a PRETA initiative launched in June 2017 under the European Banking Association & EBA CLEARING. The original aims of fostering innovation, competition and efficiency to increase consumer choice and enhance security for online payments, are central to our ethos and methodology today. OBE is globally known for guiding central banks, regulatory authorities and regional communities through operational and technical set-up, implementation, and the operation of open banking and open finance ecosystems. OBE’s regional Membership Programmes enable participants of the Open Banking and Open Finance ecosystems to come together and collaborate with our subject matter experts. Together they proactively and jointly shape the industry, create commercial opportunities, solve problems and remove risk.
