National Smallholder Poultry Development Trust (NSPDT) is an apex sectoral organization with mandate to spearhead and nurture community poultry in India. At present, there are over 14,000 women poultry producers from tribal and dalit families of Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Maharashtra and Assam working under its aegis. They are collectivised in 28 primary poultry cooperative societies. The cooperatives are further federated into state level secondary organizations. NSPDT has successfully created state-of-art modern facilities – hatchery, parent farm, feed plants for backward integration. NSPDT is looking ahead to replicate and expand the model in States of Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Assam and Bihar.
