The Lang Center instills entrepreneurial thinking in all Columbia Business School students and alumni to create a community of business practitioners with a lifelong commitment to achieving social and economic progress through entrepreneurship, venture investing, and an innovation mindset. Lang curriculum, programs, and resources follow a three-pronged approach: Launch: For students and alumni planning to start their own business during or after graduation from business school Invest: For students and alumni looking to learn about investing in startups through venture capital (early stage and growth) and angel investing Join: For students aspiring to work at an existing startup or in innovation at a larger organization Building on a rich tradition of teaching and research in the field of entrepreneurship, Columbia Business School established the Center in 2000 with a gift from Eugene M. Lang, MS ’40. A member of the Columbia Business School Board of Overseers, Mr. Lang was both a successful entrepreneur and a distinguished philanthropist.
