The Phoenix Scholars

www.phoenixscholars.org

Founded in 2010, The Phoenix Scholars seeks to empower highly motivated, underserved high school students in their journey to successfully obtain a great college education. The Phoenix Scholars provides free college admissions consulting and mentorship to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented minority students from across California. Our program matches high school juniors with mentors who are current undergraduate students at Stanford University or the University of California, Berkeley, the vast majority of whom are first-generation, low-income, and or underrepresented minorities themselves. Our mentors are able to combine their personal expertise in the college admissions process with the training and resources they receive from The Phoenix Scholars organization to become excellent college admissions coaches. Our mentors work with a maximum of 2 scholars, thereby providing high school students with the individualized support that their guidance counselors are sometimes unavailable to provide.
