SKIP (Student Association for Knowledge in Informatics and Programming) was founded in 1989 by a group of System Sciences students at the IT Faculty at University of Gothenburg. Current generation of SKIP members is coming from a variety of programs and our mission is to promote IT related skills and knowledge to the students at the Department of Applied IT, and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering via workshops and lectures, tutoring sessions, free website hosting, helping students in various study related IT issues, and sponsored competitions. One of our external goals is to provide students with information about trends in IT job market and skills required, as well as encourage students to practice giving lectures and/or leading workshops, therefore we greatly welcome any kind of student initiatives and ideas and encourage students to expand their social networks for their future career opportunities.
