AHPCA promotes and supports comprehensive and quality hospice palliative care in Alberta by: 1. Raising public and political awareness of hospice palliative care - We highlight palliative care news and events, we engage with local media and we liaise with the provincial government to make recommendations. 2. Helping Albertans access good quality hospice palliative care services - We provide and maintain a directory of Alberta-wide hospice palliative care services. 3. Supporting professionals, volunteers and laypeople to provide good quality hospice palliative care - Our annual province-wide educational Roadshow workshops bring palliative education to smaller communities, we facilitate educational scholarships and awards for volunteers and informal caregivers and once a year we unite Alberta's grassroots hospice groups to learn and share at the Imagine conference.
