rgastudio was established in 2006 by Raffaele Azzarelli and Giuliano Iamele. It specialises in architectural design and project management, encompassing a wide range of projects diverse in both in nature and scale. The team takes care of each project from initial design to final completion alongside a number of experts in various fields. Particular attention is paid to the realisation phase; the construction site is viewed as a workshop, in which both the choices of material and a focus on detail acquire fundamental importance in the projects’ overall success. So far, the practice has designed and managed projects regarding private and public buildings, schools, offices and residential and retail property. In the last few years, the practice has gained specific expertise in innovative Interior Design Concepts for restaurants and cafés. Amongst these can be found: Hangar Bicocca Museum and Pinacoteca di Brera’s cafeteria, the restaurants ‘Ratanà’, ‘ErbaBrusca’, 'Taglio' in Milan and 'Bistrot’, the new restaurant of Lavazza Campus in Turin. Raffaele Azzarelli received his degree in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 2002. He continued his training at Studio Terragni and Studio del Boca, both based in Milan. Between 2006 and 2010, he worked as a consultant for various public authorities in the field of architectural project management and construction site supervision, specialising in hospital and childhood-related projects. Since 2014, he has collaborated with IED Milano (European Institute of Design), teaching Interior Design. Giuliano Iamele received his degree in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 2002. He continued his training in Claudio Silvestrin’s practice in London and in GianluigiMutti’s in Milan.
