Unification Theological Seminary is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Academic degree programs of the Seminary are registered by the New York State Education Department at the Office of Higher Education and the Professions Cultural Education Center. UTS holds affiliate status with The Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada. Founded in 1975 by the Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, Unification Theological Seminary prepares its graduate for professional careers in the ministry and in public leadership. UTS serves as the Home of Thought for the teachings of Unificationism. While at UTS, all students master the teachings of Christian tradition and learn about the core underpinnings of the World Religions. UTS confers four accredited graduate degrees: Doctor of Ministry, Master of Divinity, Master of Religious Education and Master of Arts in Religious Studies. UTS has a gifted, respected faculty from differing religious backgrounds and denominations. Graduates serve in a broad array of missions in church and public leadership, interfaith organizations, education, journalism, law, medicine, politics and business. Graduates have pursued doctoral studies at Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Chicago, Columbia, Columbia, Vanderbilt, Graduate Theological Seminary, and other top educational institutions.
