Keeping Alive Societies Hope (KASH)

www.kash.or.ke

Keeping Alive Societies Hope (KASH) is a Non-Governmental Organisation registered in Kenya and based in Kisumu, City which is the third largest city in Kenya. The organisation works to improve the health and human rights circumstances of marginalized persons in all its areas of work. KASH has particularly been in the frontline in ensuring that key community stakeholders fully understand the impact of the decisions they make and the powers they weld and how what they do impacts the health and human rights outcomes of marginalized persons. KASH has significantly worked with vulnerable populations. The key community players we have engaged include police officers, public health care providers, judiciary officers as well as the owner of businesses frequented by marginalized persons. Our human rights endeavors have made us a strong partner in civic and voter education initiatives. Our clamor for human rights consciousness by our society members resonates well with any world class governance practices. We are therefore involved in civic and voter education as our contribution towards improving the understanding of the Kenyan new constitution - and with it improving the democratic and governance practices in. We also build the skills of those we work for as a way of improving their confidence and their economic empowerment potential.
