In recognition of the growing reputation as a world-class fashion school, the Institute of Textiles and Clothing (ITC) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) will be upgraded and renamed as the School of Fashion and Textiles (SFT) on 1 July 2022. SFT has been a pioneer of fashion education and research for Hong Kong since 1957, when the Department of Textile Industries was established under the predecessor of PolyU, Hong Kong Technical College.
