P.E. Structural Consultants, Inc. (PESC) was an Austin-based, woman-owned, structural engineering consulting firm. In April, 2022, PESC joined forces with Hardesty & Hanover, LLC. The Austin, TX team offers a diverse group of highly qualified, experienced design engineers and technical personnel. From schematic design to detailed engineering, we pay particular attention to the economy and constructability of our structures. PESC's experience comprises a wide variety of projects, from design of major bridges and transportation structures to the design of commercial, industrial and public facilities. The US290E Toll Road, IH35W Reconstruction, the new Austin City Hall and Austin Central Library are notable projects in our portfolio. PESC has maintained a reputation for innovative, high-quality and aesthetically pleasing work. Since 1992, PESC has provided structural design, quality review, forensic investigation and construction phase services to the City of Austin, ABIA, central Texas Counties, Austin ISD, CapMetro, TxDOT, CTRMA, TPWD, and numerous other public agencies. Principals Lisa Carter Powell, P.E. and David W. Powell, P.E. founded PESC on their respective expertise in bridge design and building design, and their background in research and academics at the University of Texas and Ferguson Structural Engineering Laboratory. PESC continues the tradition of designing both horizontal and vertical structures. Moving forward as part of the Hardesty & Hanover family, the Austin team is ready to bring additional expertise to Texas transportation infrastructure projects.
