Principal Simon Corrigan founded Corporate Affairs Australia to help organisations achieve their objectives by building productive relationships with government and communities. Simon is a corporate affairs veteran with more than two decades of experience in approvals, government relations, community relations and communications. Simon began his career as a political and ministerial advisor rising to a Chief of Staff role in WA’s Gallop / Carpenter government across a range of portfolios including Resources, Regional Development and State Development. Following his government career, he advised some of Australia’s largest mining companies holding senior corporate affairs and approvals roles at CITIC Pacific Mining, Atlas Iron and BHP. At BHP, Simon was Head of Corporate Affairs at the company’s Olympic Dam operations in South Australia and was then promoted to Head of Community and Indigenous Affairs for all Australian operations. Most recently Simon was a Director at WA’s largest strategic communications firm Cannings Purple where he assisted clients with complex corporate affairs challenges across sectors including resources, education, government and not-for-profit.
