We are a family foundation that was created in 1993 at the initiative of Dr. Roberto Gold, who had the mission of giving back to society part of what he had received throughout his career. Over this 26 years of existence, we have continued with the family legacy. Our vision is to transform the reality of 1,600 million people affected by neglected diseases, diseases related to inequality with severe consequences on health, mainly of the most vulnerable peoples Our mission is to develop effective management models that are replicable, scalable and transferable through public-private partnerships, involving multidisciplinary scientific research, and working with the affected communities in several parts of the Americas, Europe and Africa. Our work is linked to and framed within the current regional and global strategies defined by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the World Health Organization (WHO), and contributes with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. We are the only Latin American organization member of United to Combat NTDs, a coalition promoted by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; we participate in the Soil-Transmitted Helminth coalition and are founding members of Chagas Coalition Mundo Sano. Many achievements behind and many challenges ahead.
