Unlike traditional oxygen generators that use PSA technology, American Oxygen utilizes new electrochemical solid state ceramic membrane technology to extract oxygen from air and produce ultra-pure (99.9999%) with low-power consumption. This technology will revolutionize how point-of-use oxygen is produced and open new markets for low-cost guaranteed very high purity oxygen (99.9%). Electrochemical Ceramic Oxygen Generation (eCOG) offers another unique advantage - compression of oxygen gas without a mechanical compressor. The process is 100% solid state. In fact the compression process involves NO MOVING PARTS! Previously members of AmOx's R&D team demonstrated production of 300-psig ultra-pure oxygen at a rate of 1-slpm in the lab using eCOG technology. Recently, AmOx in cooperation with NASA demonstrated production of over 5-slpm at over 50-psig a single 30-cell module, and setting a new world record in the process. The development team is proceeding forward with a schedule to increase oxygen production to over 15-slpm at 80-psig (limit of the plumbing system) using multiple modules inside a single oxygen generator.
