Milcobel CVBA, Belgium’s largest dairy group with headquarters in Kallo, collects, processes and commercialises roughly 1.2 billion litres of milk – from over 3000 dairy farms. This volume represents more than one-third of Belgium’s total milk production. Their turnover amounts to almost 1 billion euros. The Milcobel Group has 8 branches in Belgium, France and the Netherlands - Kallo, Langemark, Moorslede, Brugge, Barchon, Schoten, Nieuw-Vennep (NL) and Argentan (F). All the activities combined provide work for 1,900 employees. Milcobel’s activities are based on a cooperative business model, whereby the key factor is to pay a fair price for milk. As members of the cooperative, the dairy farmers are the direct beneficiaries of the operational result. Milcobel valorises the milk through a wide range of dairy products which are traded on the European as well as on the international market: · Cheese , butter, milk powder, consumer milk and drinks at Milcobel - Dairy · Ice cream at Ysco nv · Trading, packaging and cutting cheese at Dupont Cheese Services nv and Camal sa The product range comprises on the one hand industrial products (milk powders, mozzarella, …) and on the other, consumer products (milk drinks, consumer cheese, ice cream). Milcobel is responsible for a big part of the Belgian cheese production.
