College Readiness Student Organization
Most students, in general, whether they are elementary, junior high, middle, or high school, tend to live in a very creative and peaceful world. A world, where students don’t get to experience the hard work our parents go through every single day, from the moment they leave their bed until the very moment they get back to their homes, parents are the ones making sure their children’s lives are in the best conditions they can provide. But, us, students don’t realize the big picture, that one day we will be those parents that will have to take care of our own sons and daughters. This club will reveal to highschool students the importance of education. Not just highschool, but furthermore even college/university! It will teach how important it is for the students to really try their best to get into college/university. This club will show them all the new and different experiences students can participate. We will mentor students about the importance of GPA, volunteering, tutoring, clubs, internships, SAT, ACT, summer camps (such as HOBY, RYLA), and much, much more. The club will be held twice a week, but it’ll be more than merely a meeting. Students can come to get tutored by other students in one subject, or they can be the ones tutoring others in another subject. This club will unfold the strengths and weaknesses for each individual, getting them even more prepared for the future. As of this year, many students in high school are actually taking college classes in SAC, IVC, OCC and SCC. The textbooks needed for any classes at college, will also be given tips and resources on how to efficiently be purchased/rented.
