Johor Skills Development Centre (JOHOR SKILLS) was established in 1993 by Johor Corporation with the objective to produce skilled and semi-skilled workforce by providing Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) and skills upgrading to the future workers. JOHOR SKILLS is an approved training provider listed as 'Pusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Negeri or PPKN which is certified by 'Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran' or JPKJ (Department of Skills Development) of the Ministry of Human Resources. JOHOR SKILLS runs its various TVET Programmes through funding from Perbadanan Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran (PTPK) and Human Resources Development Fund (HRD Corp) besides other development grant or special funding allocated from time to time by the Goverment Agency. Programmes offered by JOHOR SKILLS are recognised by the industries with certification issued out by JPK, SIRIM SST, NIOSH, ST, TWI UK, BGAS-CSWIP and Mobius Institution of Vibration. The recognition can be refelected by the support shown by the large numbers of companies including multinational companies that have participated in various training programmes provided by JOHOR SKILLS which also organises special package programmes such as in-house courses and programmes held on weekends.
