SMD- the winner of the first Harvard Business School Alumni New Venture Contest- aims to bring the engineering rigour & cost control of the automotive industry coupled with the production methods & discipline of TPS to bear on medical manufacturing to deliver products that meets the highest (global) quality, safety and usability standards for both the patient and the care-giver at a price that is affordable for the (Indian) institution.
