Founded since 2011 by gaffers and photographers. SUMOLIGHT is a German based manufacture of lighting systems for professional film and TV productions. The company has a short but successful legacy of creating LED lighting fixtures that are in high demand across global productions and used by gaffers and DoP’s in a number of very creative ways. Sumolight was established in Berlin, Germany, where the headquarters is still located today. Other subsidiaries are in Los Angeles, US and UK. The portfolio includes Sumosky, SumoSpace+, SumoMax, others archive technologies and lighting accessories. The first bicolor light was the compact SUMO100 with its interchangeable innovative and versatile light shaping tools like the foldable Soft Box set a new standard for the industry. It´s successor the SUMOSPACE won the Cine Gear Expo Technical Award for best Lighting Technology and is considered by many as the standard in LED space lighting. In 2019 a unique mounting system for the SUMOSPACE, the SUMOSNAPᵀᴹ was developed, expanding the SUMOSPACE to a true modular lighting system.
