SOLHO is a high-tech company that engineers large solar energy systems for the production of heating and cooling that can be used in industrial or residential environments. The company was founded in 2017 in Delft, the Netherlands, by a team of Italian researchers from TU Delft and ETH Zurich with over 10 years of experience in the energy and solar sector. SOLHO is active all over the world and has offices in the Netherlands and since 2021 in Italy. SOLHO's system is called a SPRHOUT. It transforms the energy from the sun into heating (hot water or steam of up to max 95°C) and cooling (cold water up to 7°C) as needed. SOLHO replaces gas with the sun to lower emissions, eliminate dependence on fossil fuels and significantly reduce costs. SOLHO’s solutions make it possible to decarbonise the demand for heating and cooling in the industrial and residential sectors by responding in a concrete way to 5 of the sustainable development objectives envisaged by the 2030 Agenda.
