100 Black Men of Omaha
www.100blackmenomaha.orgThe mission of the 100 Black Men of Omaha (100) is “To improve the quality of life in Omaha by helping our youth to be Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Lead.” We seek to achieve our mission through mentoring and education programs. The 100 is committed to the intellectual development of our youth and the empowerment of the African-American community based on the following precepts: respect for family, spirituality, justice and integrity. Mentors, volunteers and staff have leveraged resources to develop a system based on Mentoring through Education, Health & Wellness, and Economic Empowerment programs. We believe that if we focus our efforts on these core areas, we ultimately will create a foundation of success for our youth and community. The 100 was established in 1995 when a group of concerned men realized that the survival of the Omaha community rested on their willingness to join together and be a vehicle for positive change. Today the 100 is one of over 100 chapters internationally that make up the 100 Black Men of America, an alliance of African-American men from a myriad of professions including community leaders, business executives, entrepreneurs, elected officials and educators.
