Giving Voice Initiative (GVI) inspires and equips organizations around the world to build choruses that bring joy, well-being, purpose, and community understanding to people with Alzheimer’s and their care partners. The only organization of its kind, GVI is sparking a movement to build choral music communities that celebrate the potential of people living with dementia. GVI’s vision is to support the launch of choruses for people with Alzheimer’s and their care partners in diverse communities worldwide, triggering a movement that celebrates the potential of people with Alzheimer’s. GVI plans to develop tools that will allow choruses to share their successes, challenges, and best practices. GVI also hopes to work with others to offer specialized training for music directors and other chorus personnel to help them work more effectively with singers with dementia.
