Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras [TRYPO] provides well-rounded music education programs and performance opportunities for young people to foster lifelong passion, appreciation, and support of music. Established in 1974, TRYPO has served over 2,200 young musicians from the greater Pittsburgh metropolitan area. Current program offerings include: - Young Peoples Orchestra (YPO): Advanced full symphonic orchestra, led by Music Director Brian Worsdale. - Wind Symphony (WS): Intermediate to advanced wind ensemble, led by Music Director Brian Worsdale - Symphonette (SYM): Intermediate string orchestra, led by conductor Andrew Wickesberg - Youth Chamber Connection (YC2): Small ensembles such as quartets and quintets for students of all ages - beginner to advanced - coached by members of the Pittsburgh Symphony and other fantastic teachers in the Pittsburgh community - Percussion Ensemble (PE): Advanced percussion ensemble, coached by Paul Evans - YC2 at Chautauqua Music Camps: Summer program for intermediate to advanced students in collaboration with the Chautauqua Music Camps at the Chautauqua Institute.
