CHAWREC was founded in 1995 originally as a Racial Equality Council. However, since then we have expanded into dealing with all areas of equality, although we still retain a specialism in race equality work. Our objectives are to eliminate discrimination, especially racial discrimination and promote equality of opportunity and good relations. UK Online Centre We have an IT suite consisting of 4 new computers. Anyone can pop in and use the computers during office hours (Mon-Fri 10-4). BME Consultation Panel We organise a BME Consultation panel, which has around 250 panel members from a range of BME backgrounds across the area of Cheshire. We are able to organise focus groups, panel sessions, postal and one to one consultations on behalf of agencies to ensure that the needs of BME individuals are being considered.
