Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood

www.bgchollywood.com

The Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood has been providing academic enrichment programs to underprivileged students since its founding in 1937. We offer a broad array of academic, health, artistic, and leadership programs for our students at our main facility, as well as after school programs at West Hollywood and Van Ness elementary schools. Our programs all further our mission, which is to “inspire and empower young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring adults.” The following survey results conducted at the end of the 2014 school year indicate we are meeting our mission: • 100% of students reported that they were on grade level. • 95% of students reported that they will complete high school. • 90% of students reported that they will attend college. • 98% of students reported being active every day. • 100% of students reported having leadership opportunities at the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood. We serve over 1,400 students in Los Angeles from predominantly low-income families by providing them with quality youth development programs that also help keep them sheltered, safe, fed, and supervised, away from gangs, crime, drugs, and other risky behaviors. Skilled and dedicated youth development professionals provide many activities in our five core program areas: Education and Career Development; Character and Leadership Development; Health and Life Skills; The Arts; and Athletics, Social Recreation, and Fitness. Partnerships with local businesses assist us in carrying out our mission, including the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Hollywood Media BID, Hollywood Neighborhood Councils, Hollywood & Wilshire Rotaries, Paramount, Toyota of Hollywood, Roosevelt Hotel, Walt Disney Company, CVS, Farmers Insurance, Union Bank, Ross Stores, Microsoft, Bank of America, State Farm, Gap, Macy’s, and Banana Republic.
