Business Against Crime in Leeds (BACIL) is a non-profit, crime prevention network aimed at mitigating crime in Leeds City Centre, Crown Point Retail Park and other areas across the city. It is a non-for-profit organisation working in partnership with Leeds City Council, West Yorkshire Police, Safer Leeds and over 360 businesses throughout the Leeds day and night time economy – including retailers, bars and nightclubs. Since the organisation was founded in 2006 there has been a significant reduction in business crime. This is due, in part, to the strength of the relationships BACIL has developed with its members and partners, as well as to the adoption of the latest (radio and mobile platform) technology, which has boosted the speed and breadth of communication.
