www.arabamericanny.orgThe Arab American Association of New York (AAANY) is a non-profit grassroots organization located in Brooklyn, NY, whose mission is to support and empower the Arab immigrant community by providing services to help them adjust to their new home and become active members of society. Our aim is for families to achieve the ultimate goals of independence, productivity, and stability. Since the Association’s founding in December 2001, we have served over 9,000 individuals, over 70% of them women and children, and the overwhelming majority low-income families, providing invaluable assistance. AAANY works to assist in making the transition into American society as fluid as possible for the Arab community. To this end, we provide the following services and programs: - Advocacy and civic engagement on key issues pertaining to the community, including immigration and education reform - Adult education programs including ESOL, Citizenship preparation, GED preparation, and employment literacy skills - Youth programs including after-school tutoring, college guidance and preparation, civic engagement groups, and dance classes - Bilingual case management and supportive counseling - Legal immigration/naturalization services - Assistance with access to public benefits, health services and psycho-social services - Public education, health and cultural workshops
