Triweb Technologies began in 2005 as a web and software development firm. Later that year, we began experimenting with ways to solve the problem of finding and navigating to oil and gas related sites in Western Canada. We developed a system that combined the navigational power of GPS with the well known and established Alberta Township System (ATS), and created the first GPS powered Oil and Gas navigation device, known as SiteFinder GPS. It was soon discovered that current GPS devices lacked the map detail that was required for efficient rural and back-country navigation (the domain of the oil and gas industry). Seeing this as an opportunity, we quickly began the developent of the most detailed GPS road and land feature maps in Western Canada, and OilTrax was born, which grew and spread quickly across the industry. Triweb Technologies has since continued its trend of viewing roadblocks as opportunities for innovation, and has developed many custom software utilities that have brought rogue ideas to reality.
