Fast Feet NYC

www.fastfeetnyc.com

Our mission at Fast Feet NYC is to make athletics, nutrition and social skills development accessible and inclusive to all people. Through our health equity programs, we provide adaptive running and fitness programs, nutrition education and social skills development workshops for schools and communities that serve individuals of all abilities. Fast Feet NYC was started in 2018 by Suzie Clinchy (a former NCAA D1 runner for Wake Forest University and public school mathematics teacher) to close the disparity in inclusive athletic programming available that targets the physical and socioemotional benefits of exercise for neurodiverse children. Fast Feet NYC offers a variety of health equity programs that center on physical movement, nutrition education and social skills development. We currently serve over 600 families with individuals who have a disability, free of charge, through our in-person and virtual programs. 20% of our participants have a paralysis disability. We are one of the few organizations in America that provides adaptive athletic, fitness and health programs for individuals with disabilities including autism spectrum disorder, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and partial paralysis. In general, programs that provide these individuals with opportunities to be physically active, properly supported, socially interact and feel accepted are extremely limited and often expensive. Fast Feet NYC is free of charge for families; we empower all people, regardless of their ability, to self-identify as an athlete, to benefit from the many positive outcomes that correlate with being part of a team or community and have the tools to live a healthy, happy lifestyle.
