8th Kind Pty Ltd (Trading as Mysterious Universe) exists to take news and current affairs in the genres of science, future science, ancient history, human experience, the mysterious (difficult or impossible to understand, explain, or identify) and provide it in an easily accessible, high quality and entertaining digital format. 8th Kind Pty Ltd was formed around the Mysterious Universe Podcast which was founded by Benjamin Grundy in 2006. In December 2008, Aaron met with Ben and offered to form a new business partnership. Since that meeting, Mysterious Universe has evolved to become a leader in the alternative news and entertainment sector. The company is limited by shares, with Benjamin Grundy and Aaron Wright equal partners.
