As a World Class Cluster and European Gold Label awarded, the Secured Communicating Solutions Cluster (SCS Cluster) plays a major role within the Information and Communication Technologies sector. Located in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur Region, the SCS Cluster gathers more than 250 key players, among which 26 key industrial leaders, 18 research and training establishments and organizations and a galaxy of 200 innovative start-ups and SMEs. Focused on Smart Specialisation Areas : Contactless Technology, Networks, M2M & Mobile Services and Digital Security & Identities, the SCS Cluster works within the fields of Microelectronics, Telecommunications and Software with a genuine ambition to develop the leading European ecosystem on these Smart Specialisation Areas and one of the top 3 worldwide. Key missions of the Cluster for its ecosystem is to boost innovation through open innovation, and boost growth of start-ups and SMEs. Since 2006, 177 financed projects have been supported representing more than 760 millions euros R&D investments. 250 start-up and SMEs have been supported with high added value services such as access to equity, tailored intelligence service, Go to market training, business relations with prospective customers and partners, international development (participation in trade shows, partnership missions). On top of these services, a major focus is also made on industrialization through access to 4 mutualized platforms helping SMEs for design, characterization and micropackaging of microelectronic chips (CIM Paca) and for mobile services development (4G, LTE, IMS, traffic optimization), M2M networks and communicating objects) with the Com4innov platform.
