Telluriq embraces a revolutionary new concept in exchange traded natural disaster retrocession. This innovative approach provides the reinsurance industry with hedging products to help limit economic and financial losses from unexpected environmental outcomes and thereby to assist insurers with capital adequacy and underwriting growth. Telluriq’s goal is to enhance the capital available for natural disaster ‘retrocession’ – the insurance of reinsurance companies – at a time of climate change and already growing protection gaps in natural disaster reinsurance. Telluriq has been invited to participate in the Bermuda Insurance Innovation Hub and is subject to the supervision of the Bermuda Monetary Authority.
