Joy Southfield Community Development Corporation, JSCDC respectively, began operating as a free clinic established by Second Grace Church in 2001. The Detroit Community Development Corporation, Joy Southfield, has worked closely with District 7 and neighborhood organizations to facilitate resources and meet needs within local communities. Health discrepancies and job disparities are tackled by way of JSCDC programs and initiatives. Joy Southfield bridges local partnerships and public policies that will create a context for local communities to have the capacity and support to build inclusive, and sustainable economies. The mission of Joy Southfield Community Development Corporation (JSCDC) is to support residents and businesses in building a healthy and a thriving community. Cody Rouge, Warrendale, and surrounding neighborhoods of District 7 will gain access to home improvement support, local economic development, and health services through JSCDC Community and Economic Development.
