Studio Sevens was conceived back in 2011 with an alternative approach to practice, up until 2017 it has been operating in the background, building up knowledge, skills and connections. We believe that Architecture should be available to everyone, not just those with plenty of money. Good design is too frequently considered to be an expensive aesthetic trait, rather than affordable, pragmatic or strategic. In the same way, 'architecture' as it is presented in glossy magazines too often appears frivolous and inaccessible for many people, it just doesn't seem to be something available in the everyday. With the industry frequently accused of being out of touch, the strategic and pragmatic approach to regaining broad & viable connections with people would be to work with the majority instead of the minority. With this in mind Studio Sevens are intentional in engaging with community led projects & grass roots opportunities which seek to provide that which is really needed for people, rather than that which will raise the most profit.
