LifePointe Fellowship was founded by its Lead Pastors, Cecil and Leah Whitton. Pastor Cecil graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University with a B.S. in Cross-Cultural Missions. He and his wife Leah served as pastors in Dallas before hearing God call them to Pearland. Pastor Cecil’s family lived south of Pearland, so they would often drive down from Dallas to visit his family, passing Pearland as they drove down highway 288. On one particular journey, Pastor Cecil felt God specifically speak to him that they would plant a church in Pearland. (At the time, there was mostly empty land at the 518 – 288 intersection!) When Cecil talked to Leah about it, she told him that she had also heard exactly the same message a year earlier while driving on the same stretch of highway. In the fall of 2005, Cecil and Leah moved to Pearland and launched LifePointe Fellowship in an old church building previously used by Bethany Assembly of God Church. Beginning with only seven people, God has blessed LifePointe over the years, through our commitment to developing life-long followers of Christ and making a positive impact not only in our local community but also worldwide through global missions. Today, LifePointe is a growing community of believers with a passion for God, reaching people from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and locations. We are proud of the diversity God has brought to our church, as we are all united together as brothers and sisters in Christ.
