OED is part of the OptoElectronics Group which is focusing on the development of a manufacturing platform capable of producing vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELs) in high volume for 3D sensing applications. This facility, in Warren, NJ, contains a 30,000 square foot class 100 clean room which currently operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the future its processing capacity for 150 mm GaAs wafers will scale up 5X for optoelectronic devices, including VCSELs.
