Our elderly wards are lonely pensioners, they do not have children or other relatives who could help them, that’s why many of them are forced to find a way to pay utility bills, purchase life-saving medicines and buy food … Most of them did not eat “expensive” fruits and even the most budgetary sweets for years. We want to help them a little bit, therefore we purchase, form and deliver basic food packages, means of hygiene and arrange tea parties to cheer them up. Our standard package of assistance costs around 450 UAH and includes several types of cereals and / or pasta, fish and canned meat, sunflower oil, tea, some sweets, as well as basic household chemicals – washing powder and soap. For elderly people it is a significant aid to their small pension. The packages are delivered to recipients by our volunteers who are accompanied by the social worker.
