Florida Center for Investigative Reporting
www.fcir.orgThe Florida Center for Investigative Reporting is a nonprofit investigative journalism organization whose mission is to expose corruption, waste and miscarriages of justice. From 2010 through 2015, FCIR produced award-winning projects in partnership with Florida’s traditional and ethnic news media. FCIR’s partners included Florida’s NPR member stations, the Miami Herald, Tampa Bay Times, The Tampa Tribune, Florida Times-Union, The Ledger, Naples Daily News and Bradenton Herald, among other news media throughout the state. In 2016, FCIR refocused on three separate programs: offering individual grants of $500 to $5,000 to journalists working on Florida stories; supporting journalists who investigate Islamophobia and the intersection of national security and civil liberties; and acting as a fiscal sponsor for journalism organizations and individual journalists to receive funding that requires a 501(c)(3) umbrella.
