The Lightning Gurus is a company dedicated to enabling qualifying earthing and lightning protection start-up companies to have access to larger projects. We do this by providing them with compliant earthing and lightning protection components as well as project and business management assistance. Our goal is to assist in empowering broad-based black economic empowerment (B-BBEE) companies in the earthing and lightning protection industry. Our calling is to turn this idealistic proposal into a practical reality. With the right designs, products, installation expertise and management we enable these companies to offer turn-key protection solutions. The previously disadvantaged members of the population have found it difficult to gain entry into the earthing and lightning protection industry. The Lightning Gurus has been set up to change this. The Lightning Gurus comprises a network of Earthing and Lightning Protection Association (ELPA) accredited installation companies. South Africa is a country with a generally high annual lightning ground flash density across vast areas of our land, including many rural areas. We have an unacceptably high death statistic from lightning every year, and significant damage to properties. Our vision is to offer assistance to a limited number of independent black-owned start-up companies and help them to enter this industry in a practical manner, with the ultimate goal of job creation and education about the dangers of lightning, spread practically and effectively through communities.
