The Local Independent News Association (LINA) was established in 2022 to expand into the thriving hyperlocal news industry in Australia. Local media has become a critical element of the media landscape in Australia. LINA ensures that local audiences are served with high-quality coverage of local, original and public-interest news of important issues. Helping the existing hyperlocal media, LINA’s passion is to grow, and to encourage new hyperlocal media entrants by providing capacity building support, expert advice and access to critical third-party services, giving a deeper level of hands-on support to many organisations.
