What is a Doula? As a professional doula, I offer information, reassurance and practical assistance during pregnancy, labour and birth, and in the early weeks of parenting. I am there to help you and your partner feel confident as I endeavour to support you both through this journey. During pregnancy, you will have many questions, and a I am there to give you the information you need to have those questions answered. I can also assist you in constructing a birth plan. During labour, I will use my practical knowledge on comfort measures such as massage and position suggestions. I am also an extra shoulder to lean on (for both mother and partner!) After the birth, as a doula I can assist in many ways. This includes debriefing over the birth experience, assistance with breastfeeding information, or even practical assistance such as helping with housework! In short, as a doula, I am there for you and your partner to help you achieve the experience you want to achieve.
