Founded in 1962, Cascade Symphony Orchestra (CSO) has brought the joy and inspiration of live symphonic music to South Snohomish County for several generations of families. Today, under the leadership of Music Director Michael Miropolsky, the orchestra performs concerts at the historic Edmonds Center for the Arts in downtown Edmonds. CSO concerts are engaging, high-energy, and approachable, and feature world-class soloists as well as an educational pre-concert lecture by KING FM's Dave Beck. Cascade Symphony Orchestra is committed to nourishing musicians and music lovers of all ages. Each year, the orchestra presents a Children's Concert especially for young children, including a piece performed by a young Rising Star instrumental soloist, and an instrument petting zoo where children have the opportunity to touch and play musical instruments. CSO gives local high school students the opportunity to rehearse and perform side-by-side with Cascade Symphony Orchestra musicians at the annual Holiday concert. The orchestra also provides tuition assistance to students attending the Edmonds School District's summer music program, and grants scholarships to high school seniors intending to continue their musical studies in college. CSO is an all-volunteer, multigenerational orchestra. Musicians of the Cascade Symphony Orchestra work to continually develop and deepen their musicianship while sharing high-quality music with the South Snohomish County community.
