CSA Building Sciences Western Ltd. is a consulting engineering firm involved exclusively in the field of “building sciences”. The firm undertakes assignments involving the resolution of a wide array of building problems. The range of involvement may be from initial review and guidance, or detailed building envelope assessment, to a total project undertaking including design, application for and acquisition of regulatory approvals, construction management, administration, and assistance in on-going maintenance procedures. Each project has unique requirements and professional participation must be tailored to those needs. The CSA team has the experience to accomplish a variety of building related tasks efficiently and economically. In January of 1993 CSA Building Sciences Western Ltd. was incorporated and became a separate and distinct office from its predecessor which was formed in Eastern Canada. On staff are its principal, registered professional engineers, applied science technologists, CAD technicians, LEED AP and support staff. CSA team members are approved as Building Envelope Professionals by various municipalities in BC. Key members of the team have successfully completed the Building Envelope Education Program. Since the beginning of 1993, CSA Western’s project list exceeds 2000 buildings and the experience so gained is directly applicable to each new project undertaken. The building envelope retrofit project base ranges in value from less than $100,000 to in excess of $7,500,000 for multiple building residential complexes. For its new construction project base, CSA has been part of design, development and construction teams for over 400 developments throughout BC in the last seven years alone.
