The mission of the Sustainable Aviation Foundation is to advance technologies and innovations pertinent to environmentally friendly, electrically powered aircraft to bring forth their implementation into a safe, quiet and useful transportation system. SA will necessarily encompass all sectors of aviation, across the globe, from UAVs and sport/recreational through commercial air carriers, since sustainability is everyone’s concern. The technologies that pertain to sustainable aviation are likewise very broadly applicable and scalable across all sectors. Consequently, SA and SustainableSkies.org will emphasize inclusiveness wherever possible. This policy will inform both the Sustainable Aviation Symposium program, the scope of SA research and the inclusiveness of future technology prizes. The SA Foundation will particularly explore ways in which the value of sustainable aviation can be extended by optimally integrating it into the overall transportation system. SA places high priority on making sure that such integration respects the importance of preserving clean air, wildlands, greenbelts, affordability, privacy and community serenity. And last, but not least, all of SA’s activities aim to make aviation as safe as possible. Sustainable Aviation Foundation, Incorporated is an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501c3 educational organization organized and operated exclusively for public, charitable and educational purposes as a private foundation. It is recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt private foundation under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
